Call for CAREB-ACCER 2021 National Conference Presenters

  • Deadline for submission extended to March 20th, 2021.
We are now accepting proposals to speak at the Canadian Association of Research Ethics Boards - L’Association canadienne des comités d'éthique de la recherche's (CAREB-ACCER) 2021 National Conference online May 5-7. We are seeking speakers who want to share their expertise and knowledge with the CAREB-ACCER community, and who will provide superior quality conference content. Topics should relate to research ethics, issues of broad and current interest, or common REB or REB administrator challenges.
This year's theme is Shining a light on research ethics: How we have worked, overcome, and moved forward.
    TYPES OF SESSIONS
Workshop sessions: These sessions tend to be more focused, and interactive (e.g., group activities, hands-on learning). Duration: Sessions will run 2 hours.
Breakout Sessions: These sessions cover more specific topics and issues. Several breakout sessions on different topics run concurrently as a block during the main conference. Sessions will be 20 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes of questions. The presentations will be prerecorded to avoid technical issues, but the question period will occur in real time. Details and instructions will follow.
Poster sessions: Poster sessions will occur in an asynchronous setting and will allow for question and answers to occur throughout the conference day. To add to the poster presentation, we will ask you to record a 5 minute summary of your poster. Details and instructions will follow.

By submitting a proposal you grant us permission to publish and promote this information as a part of the conference. All descriptions will be edited for consistency and accuracy. Presenters will be asked for consent to post presentations on the CAREB-ACCER website for attendees’ use.

Given time constraints, as well as our need to develop a short, balanced program, we may not be able to accept all proposals. If your proposal is not accepted for this year’s conference, we encourage you to consider submitting a proposal for future CAREB-ACCER conferences.

We recommend a maximum of three presenters per session (excluding a moderator if used) in order to ensure each presenter has sufficient time to share their thoughts. As a result, we reserve the right to limit the number of speakers to a maximum of three per session.
