Registration for PRIM&R’s 2015 Advancing Ethical Research Conference (AER15) and the 2015 Social, Behavioral, and Educational Research Conference (SBER15) is now open

PRIM&R is offering CAREB members the discounted PRIM&R member registration rate.

The SBER conference is held once every four years, and this year SBER15 will be held in conjunction with AER15 as a one-day conference on November 12. The conference will start with a keynote talk by Ivor A. Pritchard, PhD, Senior Advisor to the Director, Office for Human Research Protections.  There will be a high-level plenary session on emerging issues in SBER—specifically, how social science research intersects with privacy, social media, mHealth, and neuroscience.  There will be 24 breakout sessions on topics central to SBER, including privacy, assessing risk, the Common Rule, research in the schools, best practices in IRB operations, informed consent, exempt and expedited categories, and more. (For those staying on for AER15, there will be two tracks dedicated to SBER programming  with different content than at SBER15), as well as plenary sessions on issues pertaining to social science. More information can be found on PRIM&R’s website.

AER15  will take place on November 12-15 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. The conference will feature three keynote speakers and 13 high-level plenary sessions on the ethical challenges in global research studies, precision medicine, how we define risks and benefits in research, the blurring of lines between biomedical and social science research, privacy research, and genomic editing. Additionally,  125 breakout sessions will be available on topics related to federal regulations, IRB operations, vulnerable populations, internet research, biobanking, quality assurance/quality improvement, and much more. AER15 will provide you with current information on late-breaking topics, skills you need to implement and perform effective operations at your institution, and access to experts in the fields of human subjects protections and research oversight. More information can be found on PRIM&R’s website.

CAREB members who wish to attend these events are eligible for the discounted PRIM&R member registration rate.  Complete the electronic registration form found here and email it to PRIM&R at membership@primr.org to receive this special rate.
