In keeping with our theme of shared responsibility, inclusivity and community connectedness, this year we are attempting to make some of our conference content available in Inuktitut, one of the most predominantly spoken Indigenous languages as per the 2021 Canadian census.
We would welcome your input about which other Indigenous languages you would like included for the future proceedings.

CAREB 2026 RULES OF ENGAGEMENT* CAREB-ACCER 2026 CONFERENCE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
The Power of Presence: Live, Virtual, United
To promote a collegial, inclusive, and professional learning experience for all conference attendees—whether joining us in Ottawa or virtually—please adhere to the following:
• All Voices are Valued: We recognize that "presence" takes many forms. We value contributions from both the physical floor and the virtual chat equally.
• A Culture of Learning: We approach all discussions with a willingness to learn and grow, acknowledging the diverse institutional, regional, and personal perspectives within the Canadian research ethics community.
• Moderator Stewardship: To ensure a seamless hybrid flow, please respect the session rules set by the moderator. They are tasked with balancing engagement between in-person and remote participants.
• Audio & Environmental Etiquette: * Virtual Attendees: Stay muted during presentations; unmute only when prompted by the moderator.
• In-Person Attendees: Please be mindful of "side conversations" near room microphones, as these can disrupt the experience for virtual colleagues.
• Digital & Physical Respect: Respect the privacy of all attendees. Unauthorized screen recording, photography of presentation slides without consent, or the use of unapproved AI transcription tools is prohibited.
• Recordings: Be aware that sessions are being captured via video and audio for post-conference access. Your participation (via mic or camera) constitutes consent to be included in these recordings.
Behavior that does not align with the 2026 CAREB-ACCER Conference Rules of Engagement will not be tolerated. This includes harassment, disruptive "chat-bombing," or exclusionary conduct. Attendees violating these rules may be removed from the physical venue or the virtual platform.
I have read and agree to abide by the CAREB-ACCER rules of engagement
