The CAREB Conference Planning Committee encourages you to contribute to the2015 conference program by submitting a poster. Posters are an effective way to exchange ideas, strategies and solutions that address the many challenges facing REB professionals.  This represents an opportunity for researchers (including students) who are interested in conducting research into the ethical issue involved with human research participants, to present the results of their research to a broad audience of people who are attending CAREB’s Annual Conference.  Posters are an effective way to exchange ideas, strategies and solutions that address the many challenges facing REB professionals.

CALL FOR CAREB 2015 PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP TOPIC PROPOSALS

This year’s call for the CAREB 2015 Pre-Conference Workshop topic proposals is now open!   If you have recently developed a process, guideline, novel approach or innovative practice which might be of benefit to the broader CAREB audience, we hope you will consider offering a workshop session.

CAREB has traditionally offered a one day pre-conference workshop.  During this one day pre-conference workshop, CAREB offers both a full day “REB Basics” session (intended for those who are new to the ethical review process or for those who might like a comprehensive overview or refresher), as well as several more focused workshops on a range of topics which are relevant to the day to day business of conducting ethical reviews of human participant research.  In 2015, as in previous years, our goal for the pre-conference workshop is to provide practical, hands-on sessions which offer resources which you can immediately implement within your organizations and skills which are immediately transferable.  During the pre-conference workshop members will benefit from having the opportunity to learn, discuss and debate topics most relevant to the ‘front-line’ of research ethics, with a spot-light on ‘practice,’ over ‘theory.’   We invite you to partner with us in developing hands-on workshops that will take place during the Pre-conference workshop to be held on April 30, 2015 in Vancouver, BC. The detailed information you will find linked here provides additional detail on how you can become involved.

Even if you do not wish to host a workshop session, we are interested in hearing your ideas about workshop topics which would be of benefit to you.  If you have an idea for a topic that would be appropriate for the CAREB audience at the pre-conference workshop, we hope you will suggest it! Please send your suggestions via e-mail to Romaine Miller at MillerR@rvh.on.ca
